Chinese New Year Celebration

On 27/01/2005, which is on Friday, the school held a chinese new year celebration. Although the actual day falls on Sunday, 31/01/05, the school celebrated earlier to share with the students from other races about the chinese culture. the performance were hosted by two students of different race in which one of them is a chinese girl. whenever there is a perfomance, the girl would translate it in chinese language. in my opinion, this can help increase the knowledge of students from other races about chinese language.

Performance by the chinese dance girls were terrific. Not only, were they dancing in an orderly manner, but they were also dancing with a wide smile. this was followed by a performance by the a group of students dancing to the song "sway"and another familiar pop song. there were also quiz in which there were a number of educational knowledge about the chinese culture. there were a few talented students who sang their preferred song. there were also performance by a group of malay boys performing a malay traditional way of protecting themselves known as the silat. not only were silat used in fighting but it is also used in malay weddings. Finally, there were a group of counsellors, who came into the hall with 2 oranges in their hands which they were suppose to give to, to their assigned teachers. in my opinion, i find the concert a very educational one as it educate the non- chinese students about the chinese culture.

Gracious

Gracious is a word that is characterized by kindness and warm courtesy, tact and propriety responded to the insult with gracious humor of a merciful or compassionate,courteous and indulgent. It is also characterized by charm or beauty and graceful, including elegance and good taste.

In my opinion, girls by the name of "Grace" would practice a good habit.They would help people in need. For students by the name of Grace, would probably help her friends who are having problems in their studies and could also help lend a ear to her friends to share their problems and sometimes even to express their hearts out.

I have a classmate by the name of Grace. She not only have a sweet looking face but also a sweet looking smile. She would always smile gracefully from ear to ear. Besides helping her friends in the studies, she would also encourage her friends who are feeling upset, to cheer up.

Grace is also defined as warm courtesy. a person who are exhibiting courtesy and politeness would be known as "a nice gesture. It is also characterized by courtesy and gracious good manners. there is also a quote by Francis Bacon that goes, "if a man be gracious and courteous to strangers it shows he is a citizen of the world".

In my opinion, mothers would probably name their daughters ,Grace, because not only it is short and sweet but it also because as parents they would want their daughters to have a good characters such as being polite, kind, considerate and a responsible person so that in their future they would be able to mix around with the others very well, allowing them to have more friends.

Yesterday, there was biology class after school. It was not so fun as there were no practicles and experiments like in the previous lessons. But we were fortunate as we get to study in an air-condition room ( in the i-hub) although students are not suppose to study in that room.

Orange

Orange can be in a form of food.There are many types of orange, including the mandrin orange.Orange can be squeezed to get its juice. when drinking orange juice, not only it quench our thirst but it also provide useful vitamins needed by our body. We can drink them early in the morning to be refreshed or after a tired exercise lessons. We can also eat the oranges raw. Sometimes, the oranges have a sweet and sometimes a sour taste. But,however,the tedious part is to peel of the skin of the orange fruit we eat. Sometimes, while peeling the orange, the liquid might get into our eyes, causing pain.

During Chinese New Year,oranges fruits are brought when visiting the relatives. Usually relatives would bring two oranges . This is to symbolise prosperity.

Orange can also be in a form of colour the are many types of orange.the colour orang is made up of two colours. They are the red and also the yellow. Adding too much red, might cause the orange to be a slightly darker. But adding too many yellow, might cause the colour orange to be a light one. By doing so, we are experimenting with colours.
